Steam Turbine Integration

Speed and Efficiency.

POET’s mission has always been to be good stewards of the Earth by converting renewable resources into energy as effectively as possible.

Our innovative designs and in-house collaboration have helped 13 of POET’s bioprocessing facilities recover previously unused energy that now powers day-to-day operations through steam turbine generator additions. Installation of these generators has cut cost and reliance on the energy grid all while decreasing greenhouse gas emissions.

We supplied all EPC services, from concept to start-up, for the installation of these systems in 13 different facilities in the span of just 24 months. By utilizing our network of procurement partners, we were able to maximize cost savings and maintain project schedules, adding value for our clients.

Chancellor Solid Fuel Boiler

Lowering carbon intensity.

In an effort to reduce natural gas usage and lower carbon intensity, this processing facility in Chancellor, SD partnered with us to integrate a new renewable energy system.

The new system consists of a 150,000 lb/hr solid fuel boiler to burn waste wood as fuel with material handling and storage systems to feed the boiler and handle the combustion products

The boiler is integrated with a specialized burner system to burn waste methane from a nearby landfill. The new energy system will offset more than half of the plant’s natural gas usage from locally-sourced waste products.

A project of this complexity required close coordination with technology providers, local stakeholders, and a myriad of suppliers and contractors. We oversaw all engineering, procurement, and construction to provide a complete turn-key package for the client. Our experienced multi-disciplinary staff seamlessly integrated the project into the existing facility and provided the expertise to start up and optimize the new technology. Now online, the project is providing the client with a higher value product at reduced operating costs, all while lowering their carbon footprint.
